Since the beginning of our collaboration in 1990, we have been interested in creating visual metaphors for the increasing role that new technologies play in our lives and how they affect us politically, socially, and psychologically. The recent advances in biotechnology and genetic engineering propose many questions about the boundaries between the natural and the artificial, as well as the role that aesthetics may play in ědesignedî forms of life that may emerge in a world of traditional notions of evolution. These possibilities can do nothing but trigger the imagination. |
