Decoding the human genome reveals that all
6 billion of us living today can trace our ancestry to a tiny population
of some 60,000 ancestors. Thus, there is little genetic variation
among us.
But the awareness of our ancestors is limited
to a few generations; consequently, we have difficulty believing
that all of us in the world are more or less attached.
